Conflicts Disclosure Statement

I have two children, Grace and Caleb. Both students are graduates of Harts Bluff and currently Mount Pleasant High School. I grew up in Paris, graduated from North Lamar High and then earned my degree in journalism from the University of North Texas. I worked in the newspaper industry for 17 years and have worked in education for the past 15. While working in journalism, I won many writing and design layout awards. In 2013, I was named Teacher of the Year for Pittsburg High School. I currently work at Mount Pleasant High and teach photography, yearbook and newspaper and am the head of the Audio-Video Program at MPHS. My family and I attend Trinity Baptist Church where I serve as a deacon and teach 5th and 6th graders on Sunday morning and Wednesday nights.

I ran for school board because I believe in giving back to the community. My children benefited from their education at Harts Bluff. I am passionate about ensuring students are given the best opportunity to succeed. I believe Harts Bluff offers a great foundation for student success.
