I graduated from Eagle Pass High school in 1973. I recieved my Bachelor of Arts from Sul Ross State University in1990.
I recieved my Associate of Arts from SouthWest Texas Junior College. I have a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Bilingual studies and a Kindergaten endorsement.
I have attended numerous professional develpment classes on bilingual education, Balanced Literacy, Reading and Writer's Workshops. I have attended several TABE conferences.I have attended numerous workshops in all academic and language workshops.
I am teaching bilingual second grade.I have a self contained classroom which means I teach all areas. This is my first year at Harts Bluff.
I worked 11 years as a teacher's aide in Eagle Pass. This sparked an interest in teaching, so I started to pursue my degree in education. I started teaching first grade in 1990 at Robert E. Lee Elementary in Eagle Pass. Then I moved to Austin where I taught fifth, first and second grade at Norman Elementary. I then move to Naples and started teaching at Corprew Elementary. I taught third, fourth, and second grade.
I am married to Michael and he is also a teacher. We got married in 1998 in Austin. We have four grown and married children. They live in Eagle Pass, San Antonio and Waco. We have ten grandchildren. We have two small dogs.
I love to read and watch criminal investigative shows. I also like to sew.
