HB at Home Parent and Student Roles and Responsibilities 

Parent/ Caregiver/ Learning Coach Responsibilities Responsabilidades del Padre / Cuidador / Entrenador de aprendizaje 

● Establish partnership with classroom teachers to ensure a smooth transition with on-campus and remote learning. 

● Establish routines and expectations. 

● Assist your student in locating a space in the home that is ideal for learning. 

● Monitor communication from teachers and school. 

● Monitor completion and submissions of class assignments daily. 

● Support the use of technology tools to help access instruction. 

● Ensure students attend required synchronous meetings. 

● Take an active role in helping your child process their learning. 

● Attend district/campus training for implementation and support. 

● Use teacher office hours to help strength asynchronous learning. 

● Contact teacher, administrators, and counselor for additional needs and supports for student learning. __________________________________________________________________________

Student Responsibilities Responsabilidades del estudiante 

● Establish daily routines for engaging in the learning process. 

● Identify a space in home where you can learn and study comfortably. 

● Check Seesaw (Pre-k-2) or Google Classroom (3-9) daily for assignments. 

● Complete assignments with integrity and academic honesty. 

● Attend required synchronous sessions. 

● Communicate with the school when you need assistance. HBISD is here to help. 

● Submit assignments daily and by the deadline. Assignments cannot all be completed in one day. They must be completed and turned in each day for attendance and credit for the day. 

● Attend synchronous sessions appropriate dress and in accordance to HBISD’s dress code. 

● Remain on task and focused during both asynchronous and synchronous learning times. __________________________________________________________________________

  1. Expectativas escolares

  1. Diariamente, debe evaluar a su propio hijo en casa.

Se harán 2 preguntas al subir el autobús o

llegando a la escuela:

  1. ¿Está experimentando algún síntoma de COVID?

  2. ¿Ha estado expuesto a alguien con el virus?

B. DEBEN usar máscaras o protectores faciales. Estos son responsabilidad de los padres.

  1. Los estudiantes pueden quitarse las máscaras para comer o realizar actividades deportivas.

C. Los padres no podrán entrar al edificio.

  1. School Expectations

    1. Daily, you must screen your own child at home.

2 questions will be asked when boarding bus or 

arriving on campus:

        1. Are you experiencing any COVID symptoms?

        2. Have you been exposed to someone with the virus?

    1. Masks or face shields MUST be worn.  These are provided by the parent.

Students can take off masks to eat or do athletic activities.

    1. No parents in the building.

    2. Check email or hbisd.net for campus COVID updates.

Parents will leave a voicemail message that will be followed up by an administrator.  Please keep your child at home if they are experiencing any symptoms.

    1. Monday and Tuesday, August 17th and 18th, for online students.

  1. Online Daily Work Expectations

    1. Will be consistent with the curriculum given to students in-person,

    2. Daily attendance

      1. Students MUST fill-in the attendance log on EACH Google Classroom for ALL classes.

    3. Daily participation required.

    4. Required LIVE weekly check-in on Zoom.

    5. Access recording of all lessons in Google Classroom.

    6. Grading for online learners  is the same as in-person learning:

      1. 9 daily grades, 3 tests

    2. Payment is based on eligibility - Free and Reduced Form

    3. Parents/Caregivers can pick up 11:00 - 12:00 by driving thru

    4. Student does not need to be in the car

    5. Must provide student ID and pin number for each student

    6. Prepay or pay at pickup

    1. Due to COVID-19, there is absolutely NO SHARING of supplies.

    2. Water fountains will not be available, students need to bring their own personal water bottles.

    3. If your child specifically needs something, please provide it.
