SHACs assist the districts in ensuring that local community values are reflected in health education instruction.  Additionally, SHACs play an important role in strengthening the connection between health and learning.  They can help parents and community stakeholders reinforce the knowledge and skills children need to stay healthy for a lifetime.

If you are interested in joining Hart’s Bluff ISD’s SHAC, contact the school nurse at (903) 577-1146 ext 101.

What is Fentanyl?

Fentanyl belongs to the class of drugs called opioids, which are used to reduce pain. This category also includes morphine, oxycodone and heroin. Of these, fentanyl is one of the most potent, and is approved for medical use as a surgical anesthetic or for people with chronic pain (typically terminal cancer patients). Opioids reduce physical and emotional/psychological pain and can have a euphoric effect in high doses, which is why people sometimes misuse opioids.
